Food quality is not bad. But if you expect respect from personal, it is not the place to go. They talk and show each other their text messages and laugh while serving you. Don't speak fluent English and you have to repeat to make sure they understand. Took two people to get plain noodle. When they bring the plate they drop it on the table. Spilled the left over on the table, twice. The food portion is small. We ordered two steaks, waited a long time for the second one just to hear that the plate was two! Indoor design is OK but the service is like a busy fast food restaurant on china town, where your expectation is lower, and you pay less.
Not going there again.
The food are great, look and taste awesome. The cleaning of the dishes and cups, I questions, because our cups came dirty the first time, the second time, it came spotless after we asked them to change it. Then the service was not so friendly, since this is all you can eat, it's not as a big deal as a regular restaurant, but it would've been nicer if they even smile when you ask for something. It was hard to get their attention, so ask for everything you need the first time around. If I go back, it would definitely for the food, don't expect anything from the service.
We have been here a number of times and have never had a bad experience. The floors were greasy once in the winter and we talked to a manager and they were working on. A week later floors were fine. Food has always been good and service between excelent at fair depending on the rush. Price is on par given that they include beverage. However I would prefer lower price without the drink. We continue to go there and enjoy. We are taking a group of 15 on Friday so I will respond with how well that goes.
Decided to try their yellow curry for lunch a couple of weeks ago - was very delicious *AND* I had enough left for lunch the next day. Service was very fast and personable. With what seems to be the usual idea, you can eat in or take out.
My and my girlfriend decided to try out this place for a late dinner, and I can say we weren't dissapointed. Topkapi has amazing appetizers, a very nice price, fantastic Chicken Iskander and if you get a chance, try the "seasoned sirloin strips on yoghurt and tomato on a bed of fried potato", absolutely blew me away.
Service was fantastic, it feels like a family run affair, through and through.
Good Food, but very dirty place....our table wasn't wiped down and there was garbage from the last meal under the table...the service was poor and the floor was pretty greasy...I'm not complaining about the price or the food, but I don't think we 'll be back!!!!
Excellent! We have been eating here for years. The service is very good. Singapore vermicelli is the best we have had. We don't need to go to Sometset St for authentic Chinese food. Try it.
Like: nice decor, pretty good selection of dim sum on top of the standard AYCE sushi selection, sushi rolls didn't have too much rice.
Dislike: The sushi rolls with tempura had way too much tempura in it (we had snow roll and spicy salmon). Fried rice was pretty greasy. Cooked dishes (we had grilled sirloin, chicken teriyaki, and a fried rice) came out lukewarm rather than hot.
Tip: the grilled sirloin came rare to medium rare when we had it. If you like it more done, maybe write it down on the order sheet. Theoretically you can ask to have the dish sent back to be cooked some more; but you never know if you will get spit in it.
I just love this place. I have been here on so many occasion and it has been excellent every time. The manager has become a friend now and he really offers the best service for us. I notice that he treat all his costumers the same way.
I ended up going to Play tonight, and the place was packed. The food was absolutely mind blowing in its taste, and the service was impeccable. Most definitely coming back.
Great place, and I just love their decor. The place was packed and I had to wait a hour for a table. And this was the first day it open. The owner definitely know what he is doing with all the hype and YouTube promotion it received before the grand open. I'll wait until the hype is over before I go back.
This place has very nice staff serving a delicious pizza at a great price, in the Ottawa toppings under the cheese style. I find that the pizza has a great taste and just the right thickness of crust. Their delivery is both quick and polite. Even if you don't live in the area, you should pick one up to try it, I think you will enjoy it. I would go so far as to say it is far superior to Newport's pizza.
We have been going to Napoli's for the past 3 years. I simply can't think of anywhere in Ottawa with better pizza. The cheese is superb, the toppings delicious. If you're on a diet, you should probably not order here, as"light on the cheese" gets you twice as much cheese as from other places. Still, a great place.
I never seem to have a bad time here, and the quality of the food is better than any other buffet I've been to. I find that there is something for everyone. Definitely will be returning to try other items off the menu. I also find the cost is approximate to the other buffets in the area.
I like this place. Only problem is the slow service. The price is right and the food was decent. I always wonder where the name came from. Does any one know?
Fortune Express is a great restaurant. We've been to it afew times now and have never had a bad experience. The tofu with treasures tsui bowl is absolutely scrumptious!
This place is way behind the times. When I first went to 1000 sushi island, it was pretty good. Now, in comparison to some of the new sushi places, it definitely take the back seat.
Hands down for the best breakfast menu in the west end of the city. Great friendly service and super-reasonable prices for the student-heavy clientele. Awesome, We'll be back.
I can't see how a restaurant can survive so long with such poor service and food. i have been here twice and both time, I hear other customer complaining.
Such a great change from the old place there. Went to all you can eat lunch the other weekend with my whole family and we all loved it. Menu had lots to choose from, and food was delicious. It was a great price for all you can eat as well.
I found fusion house changes from the previous concept with their menu and the decor is great. There is now finally a great place to go to in the South end. Their Dim Sum is excellent. Everyone should give it a try
Vittoria Trattoria is simply amazing! They really set the standard for what a classy and customer-friendly restaurant should be like.
Their wine, champagne and complimentary bread is good. I recommend Vittoria Trattoria to anyone! Whether it is your birthday, or a special celebration, you must check it out! You will not be disappointed.
Went Friday night, party of two. we were seated by the front windows promply. very friendly service. Our drinks were always full, and the food was abundant...a few orders went missing but nothing to make us notice or complain. The food was fresh and flavorful. The sushi contained less rice and more filling than most AYCE sushi places in Ottawa (BONUS). We will be recommending to others and going back soon.
Long wait time, greasy floors, greasy utensils, stingy for providing more napkins, most of the dim sum are frozen goods and are reheated.

Why is this place so expensive? What is the reason? Is this special food? (e.g. All import from Japan)

For me, I am willing to pay extra 1or2 bucks for better service, and I also found the food presentation is better than any other all you can eat restaurants in town.

Went here with a group of friends and we were all impressed with the food. We ordered so much dim sum that we hardly had room for sushi, but what we did have was good.
The combination of dim sum and sushi means there is an incredible variety of food. The beef dishes were of noticeably high quality. Everything tasted fresh.
Prices are on par with other AYCE places. Notably, drinks (with refills) are included in the price. Another important price note: THEY ACCEPT INTERAC!!! No need to pay fees at a creepy ATM like all the other sushi joints.
The decor was pleasant. I see other reviews complaining about no windows, but we were too busy enjoying the food to notice that.
We received everything we ordered, promptly - a marked difference from some other AYCE places where orders are forgotten or come out of order. The servers could have been a little more attentive, but we got everything we needed and nothing was forgotten.
We have long lamented the lack of All-You-Can-Eat sushi in our end of town. I suspect we'll be regular diners at Fusion House if every experience is as good as this one.
The only down side to our visit was an unfortunate outburst by a manager near the door of the kitchen. It's not pleasant to see that kind of interaction between employees.

This is my family's favourite chinese food! Always greeted by a friendly face. On the menu, we especially love the very tasty eggrolls (open ended) with hot sauce (chili sauce). The chicken balls have decent size chicken pieces inside unlike the competition who only offer fried batter. Vegetables are crunchy in vegetable ding and offers a nice mix ... not only celery and onions! We have never been disappointed! Thank you Welcome Back Restaurant!!
I found this page while looking for sushi khan. What luck as I totally enjoy the food experience. Fast, efficient service. That is what I always look for.
Ooops! It is once a year. It is costing too much in those area. I heard that no windows. It is not good. I hate the place no windows. I will be STAY in 168 or 1000.

I don't think fusion house is expensive. They have more food than the other sushi restaurant. There dim sum is good and include free soft drinks and ice-cream. and their services are much more better than the others. and they have take out menu now! I think is worth it!!!

The prices are on par with other sushi restaurants that don't include drinks. Also, they include Interac, which is a big plus for me.

I went to the restaurant last week,a little more expensive than others, but the quality of the food remain about the same as other sushi restaurant. the only thing impressed me is the appearance of the dishes was decent.considering it's newly opened, there is room for improvement.

What's do you mean "NO WINDOWS"? Is this sliverdollar place?
Sep 29, 2011 - 2:57 pm
I love this place, with the great variety of food, free drinks and free deserts. I hate those other places that advertise all you can eat, than they charge you an extra 5 dollars for your drinks and deserts.
Fusion House just opened recently. We were excited about having a sushi restaurant in our neighbourhood, so I stopped by to pick up a menu, and surprisingly, they didn't have one! No menu, no website, nothing. They told me that lunch is $14.95 per person. Considering it's a brand new restaurant and quite far from downtown, I was shocked at how expensive it is! I think we'll be sticking with our old trusted "1000 island sushi", where lunch is cheaper AND the location is much better.

We've been long-time fans of 1000 Sushi Islands, but we find that the servers there have become rude, the decor is shabby, and our orders are often forgotten. Fusion House had great service and we got all our food, promptly. The price for lunch (on Saturday) is comparable, especially since drinks are included in the price - 1000 Sushi Islands charges extra for drinks.
Oct 01, 2011 - 8:16 pm
168 Sushi drink included too. The service is much better. You should try it.

My experience with fusion house has been great. These comments made are strange and unusual. I think the site admin should pay closer attention to some of the comments made on this site.

I agree. Quite expensive and a bad location. I tried Fusion House once, but will stick with 168 or 1000. Nothing special at Fusion House... although not BAD per say.

Wow. There is no better way make sushi like you guys do. Thanks for being an outstanding sushi place to be compared with other crapy sushi places or chinese sushi restaurant. Your rocky mountain roll is in the heaven we can see.
We love this place. The owners are awsome very friendly and easy going. The food we can't get enough of. The quality this there and you get what you pay for. If hungy this is your place. Yum, Yum.
I ordered some takeout last weekend from 168 and the sushi was fresh, well prepared and very tasty! My meal also came with miso soup and a small salad. This was terrific value for the price and I would say 168 is among the best of all sushi restaurants in the area.
I went to this restaurant twice last year and I must say that I left the place very happy (and full) every time. Even though I didn't exactly know what to order, I can't complain with their lunch buffet price. On top of that, I am a big eater and I sat there for 2 hours but the foods that I ordered were brought very fast. I really like it.
Although it was a bit hard to find this restaurant, am I ever glad we found the place! This has to be the best sushi place in town. It's spacious, clean, has great service, and an excellent selection of sushi. I'll be back many more times to try out the rest of the menu.
I LOVE the purple paint :) They have pictures of all the food choices so it is a great place for newbies. It has very fresh fish! I can't figure out why garlic bread is on their menu. Still, MUCH better service than Sakura, which is nearby.
