24% | Grizzly's Pasta Grill The waitresses are too young to know how to deal with restaurant customers and take every well meant critic very personal. When I was asked if I wanted something to drink before ordering, I asked for a simple vodka martini on ice with green olives. She came back with a room temperature cloudy concoction that tasted awful with not even the faintest trace of vodka. She came back to order and both my wife and I ordered the filet mignon and we asked that it be cooked rare. She then proceeded to ask if we wanted to order wine and we did request a bottle of French Bordeaux. I asked her to bring back martini and when she asked why I told her it was probably the worst I'd even drank in my whole life. She then asked me how it should have been done and I obliged her by describing how to make the perfect vodka Martini (see James Bond recipe). She would have none of that and answered that they couldn't certainly be expected to know all of this and walked away. (1 oz of vermouth over ice, shake, pour out the vermouth, pour a couple oz of vodka, shake and serve, not rocket science). She came back and said that the last bottle of Bordeaux had just been served to another table, so I asked for a Chianti. I swear it tasted like it had been watered down and my wife even commented on it. The main dish was served and we soon found out that the steak was barely cooked at all. There is a huge difference between ruminating and rare!!! If I want my steak to still be breathing, I'll walk past a cow field!!! We ended up eating not even half of the food, demanded the bill and I left a $17 tip on a 125$ bill. (I'm not a smock and I used to work in the restaurant/bar business when attending college and university). Never, ever will I set my feet in that restaurant and I will gladly warn anyone who cares to listen. Patrick B. from Terrebonne, Qc. |
